La Crescent is uniquely located on three scenic byways: Apple Blossom Scenic Byway, National Historic Bluff Country Scenic Byway and the Great River Road all pass through La Crescent. Come enjoy all the beauty of southeastern Minnesota and the Mississippi River. You will find plenty of outdoor recreation with hiking, bicycling, boating, kayaking, fishing, birding, snowshoeing and more!
La Crescent is “The Apple Capital of Minnesota”! Steeped in tradition, La Crescent has been celebrating the apple harvest for over 70 years. Visit us mid-May when the apple blossoms are in full bloom and the colors in the apple trees are spectacular. Join us the second Saturday in August for the Apple Blossom Bike Tour, an annual bike tour featuring five different rides – from a scenic 16-mile ride along the Mississippi River bed to the 100-mile ride along the tops of the bluffs. Apple Fest is held the third weekend in September and offers fun for the whole family, culminating with the King Apple Parade on Sunday afternoon. Be sure to sample some of our many delicious and unique varieties of home-grown apples. Enjoy the local farmers market held Tuesdays from 4-7 p.m. at the Event Center parking lot from May through October. Enjoy the drive and stay for the fun!
