Onalaska offers many beautiful parks that feature a variety of year-round recreational opportunities for its residents and visitors to the community. Park facilities include pickle and tennis courts, playgrounds, volleyball courts, basketball courts, horseshoe pits, shelters, athletic fields, picnic sites, walking paths, skating rinks, a sledding hill, and an outdoor pool.
The Omni Center (www.omnicenter.net) is a focal point of community activity and is a destination for all seasons with a winter ice arena hosting hockey and skating. The facility offers a host of activities ranging from trade shows, community festivals such as Celebrate Onalaska, spring and fall craft and gift shows, MMA bouts, picnics and weddings, and the newest event will be three Market in Park craft shows that will be held at the Omni Center parks at 255 Riders Club Road.
The City of Onalaska has two fairly new additions to its beauty with the opening of Dash Park at 200 Main St., which hosts a free concert every Tuesday evening, June through August, – bring a chair or sit on the grass and listen to your favorite melodies. Just across the street from Dash Park is the Great River Landing which serves as the trail head for the Great River State Trail that connects 101 miles of state bicycle trails, and offers access to the 120-acre ecologically diverse Wittenberg Marsh, the Onalaska Spillway, the Black and Mississippi Rivers, and Lake Onalaska.
We want visitors that come to Onalaska to explore, experience and enjoy what our little piece of Wisconsin has to offer. For more information visit our website or call (608) 781-9560, ext. 247.
